About the show

In this two-man musical spoof, a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers' audition for their new project: a big, splashy musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. With an unending supply of enthusiasm, Bud and Doug sing all the songs and play all the parts in their crass historical epic, with the hope that one of the producers in attendance will give them a Broadway contract - fulfilling their ill-advised dreams. Tonight is the most important night of their lives.

Auditions

The show is performed by two males, age range 25 - 45, who must act, sing, and move well, and their pianist (portrayed by the musical director). The two males will portray numerous characters as they perform the musical they have written about Johann Gutenberg. They are eager innocents. Energy and vocal and physical versatility are a plus.

Auditions will be comprised of singing 32 bars of a prepared Broadway song, and readings from the script. Please bring sheet music in your own key. An accompanist will be provided. No a capella or karaoke singing.
